3 Key Ingredients to Success

There are a lot of inspirational and motivational books out there offering helpful information on how we can become successful.  Whether it be on our goals in our career, business, studies, etc., we only dream of one thing: to become successful.  Sometimes it can get a little bit of overwhelming when we think of how to get from point A to point B, from starting with a dream to making it into a reality, but there are just 3 things to keep in mind for us to become successful in everything that we want to achieve:

1. Know what you REALLY want.  We often find ourselves choosing a career or making a decision that we later on regret or we find later on unhappy of doing or continuing because it was something that we really didn't want in the first place.  Either our decision to choose was influenced by our parents, peers, or we just decided to go with the trend - because it was the "in" thing to do or take.  Well, basing our decisions with our loved ones help and considering some outside factors is not at all bad.  I believe that we can't do things on our own without some sort of guidance, but it's important to remember that our decision to choose our dreams and goals or whatever it is that we want to accomplish should be based on doing it out of love and not out of obligation - something that we see doing for the rest of our lives as our service to God and to our fellowmen, whether we get something out of it or not.

2. Invest in Learning.  One of the most valuable things that I've learned from reading the book "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill were these powerful words: "There is no such thing as something for nothing."  You can't expect to reap when you do not sow.  Just the same as you can't expect to become successful when you don't invest in yourself.  Instead of using all your money to buy the latest gadgets and other luxuries, why not allot some of your earnings to enrolling in seminars related to the business or career that you want to embark on, or to tools like eBooks, videos and books that would add to your learning?  We may have finished school and have graduated from top schools with distinction but it is not enough a measure to say that we'll be successful in life.  Learning is a continuous process, and our best investment is in our selves.  We should start improving ourselves and be open to learning more when we want to become successful.

3. Believe that you WILL succeed.  Believing is the most important key to success.  Believe that what you so desire is meant to be yours, that you deserve it and you also believe that that is what God desires for you.  "Believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." - Mark 11:24
